SoSuur “SoSuur” is an acoustical/visual translation of the ideas and philosophy of Ferdinand de Saussure, Swiss linguist, widely considered to be one of the fathers of 20th-century linguistics. “SoSuur” is Saussure’s Mémoire sur le système primitif des voyelles dans les langues indo-européenes (Dissertation on the Primitive Vowel System in Indo-European Languages) from1879, Berlin, in “Ton und Bild”.
